Initially, each permitted e-scooter rental company will be able to deploy 1000 e-scooters only, with the potential to deploy up to 2,500 after running a business successfully for a few months. Additionally, SFMTA is requiring all e-scooters to be lock-to and each operator agreed to use W-2 workers who will work full-time as well as part-time.
